Why it’s always better to know them not to know.

As humans we are incredibly curious and so we want to know the answers to many things. It helps to clear away our doubts and it stops us from being so curious. It is commonly accepted that it’s better to know something then not to know about it and the same applies when it comes to your health. It can be incredibly scary to go for regular checkups because of the fear that he or she may find something bad. The thing to remember here is that if your illness is caught early on then there is a higher likelihood that it can be treated and that you can bounce back in no time at all.
The same applies when it comes to STD testing because not knowing is not only detrimental to your health but for the health of others as well. We don’t always practice safe sex and so you could be easily passing on a sexually transmitted disease to an innocent party. Rather than walking around worrying about whether you have a particular disease or not, wouldn’t it be better to know than not to know. The following are some of the reasons why it’s always better to have the information in front of you instead of having to guess all the time.
- It calms your nerves – If you’re walking around thinking to yourself that you might have something when maybe you don’t, then it’s going to drive you crazy and even though the result may not be in your favour, at least you know about it and you can get some medical assistance. What is the point in walking around for days or weeks wondering if you have a sexually transmitted disease when there might not be anything to worry about in the first place.
- You get your confidence back – Whatever the results tell you, it is always best to know so that you can get the necessary medication to clear it all up and so this will help you to get your confidence back again knowing that you will be free and clear in a couple of weeks. If in fact you do go for a test and it proves to be negative then this is a very positive outcome and hopefully you will learn from it and not put yourself in a situation such as this ever again.
It’s always better to know about any medical condition including sexually transmitted diseases because it allows you to take control of your life again.
